Our Servants

Rev. Dr. Paul Owens, Senior Pastor

I have been married to Sandi since 1987. Sandi teaches at Hoffman Lane Elementary School. Our adult children live in upstate New York, Houston, and right here in NB; two of three are married and our two young grandchildren live with their parents way up in NY. I have a B.A. from Kalamazoo College, a Master’s of Divinity from Luther Seminary, and a Doctorate of Ministry from Sioux Falls Seminary and St. Paul Lutheran Seminary. My doctoral focus was on the distinction of God’s word as law and gospel, with a particular focus on marriage. In addition to spending time with my beloved wife and family, I enjoy exercise, fly fishing and wood working. I love my work as a pastor, love our congregation, and our staff. I have been senior pastor at St. Paul since 2010… and feel like we’re just getting started.

Primary Responsibilities:

Rev. Dr. Timothy Sternberg, Pastor

Ministry opportunities have taken my wife Allison and I all over the United States since 1993. In that time our Father in heaven has given us the amazing gifts of four sons, two daughters-in-law, and one grandson!

A life-long Lutheran, I was raised and educated in Lutheran churches and schools from kindergarten through graduate school. I have a doctorate of ministry in the Bible which really is an expression of my love for God’s word. I love to study and teach the Bible, take long walks with my bride, laugh with my boys, spoil my daughters-in-law, play with my grandson, and relax watching my turtle. 2025 marks my 24th year of ordained ministry.

Primary Responsibilities:

Dr. Manuel Tabora, Director of Music and Creative Arts

As director of music and creative arts, Manuel Tabora seeks to lead God’s people in singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs to God’s glory and to the church’s edification. Originally from Honduras, and serving in church music since age 12, Manuel has lived in the United States since 2005. With more than a decade of experience directing church music, he is passionate about helping our congregation sing joyfully, faithfully, and well. Manuel is married to fellow musician Joanna, and together they are raising their four children in a home filled with music and love. He is grateful for the opportunity to serve the Lord by guiding others in song and praise.”

Feel free to adjust as needed. Thank you!

Manuel

Primary Responsibilities:

Kasey Kieke, Director of F3 Children’s Ministry

Growing up in San Antonio, I was inspired by incredible educators who ignited my passion for working with kids. With 23 years of teaching in Comal ISD, I’ve loved watching children grow academically and personally. My heart belongs to kids, and I enjoy teaching them about Jesus in fun and meaningful ways. I’m blessed to be married to my husband, Kyle Kieke, and we live in New Braunfels with our three wonderful children: Wyatt, Reagan, and Lincoln. We’ve proudly been part of St. Paul for six years. As a family, we cherish our time together, staying active in our community, and living out our faith. I’m dedicated to creating a warm, welcoming space where children feel safe, loved, and excited to grow in their relationship with God. I can’t wait to get to know your family and share this faith journey together!

Kimberly Wunderlich, Director of F3 Youth Ministry

For more than 20 years, I’ve called Comal County and St. Paul Lutheran Church home. During that time, I’ve been blessed to work with youth and children in professional and volunteer positions in education and ministry. I’m married to Corbee and we have three children, Dylan, Rylee, and Macey. If I’m not spending time with youth and families at church, you will find me trying to keep up with my own teenage and young adult kids, taking care of livestock, or cheering on the Aggies.
